Senior Software Engineer to own the ledger of an institutional blockchain payments network: balances, state correctness, and reconciliation between on-chain state and bank records for stablecoin, CBDC, and tokenized-asset settlement. Deep ledger and consistency-model experience required. Blockchain protocol experience a strong plus. Rust, Go, or comparable. 5+ years.
Global Settlement is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital markets through stablecoins, commodities, FX, and real-world assets (RWAs). Think the global settlement reach of SWIFT, rebuilt for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions.
You own balances, state correctness, and reconciliation across GSX Chain and every counterparty it settles with. As we launch banking products on GSX rails, the ledger becomes the thing banks, auditors, and regulators check first, and this role exists to make it provably right.
This is a blockchain payments role. The ledger you own is anchored to on-chain state, and you will work with chain finality, consensus behavior, and settlement-protocol events every day. Blockchain protocol experience is a big advantage coming in. If you bring deep ledger experience from banking without it, expect to build that protocol depth here, fast, because the job requires it.
Design the ledger model and its invariants: accounts, balances, holds, and the rules that make every state transition auditable
Build reconciliation between on-chain state on GSX Chain and counterparty records at banking partners, custodians, and payment providers
Make balance correctness provable under concurrency, replay, chain reorgs, and partial failure
Build the audit and compliance reporting surfaces that institutional clients and regulators query
Own the data model and consistency guarantees the application suite (stablecoin, tokenization, banking, and CBDC products) depends on
Partner with settlement and banking-integration engineers so the ledger, the chain, and the fiat rails agree at all times
This role is a hands-on coding role with roughly 80% of your time spent coding, 10% of time spent strategizing and coordinating with team members, and 10% of your time spent documenting
5+ years of backend engineering on production systems where data correctness was the product
Deep database and consistency-model knowledge: isolation levels, idempotency, event sourcing, and reconciliation at scale
Direct experience building or operating a double-entry or core-banking ledger
Production Rust, Go, or a comparable systems language, and comfort moving between stacks as the roadmap moves
Working understanding of how blockchain state, finality, and reorgs affect a ledger, and the drive to go much deeper
Startup work ethic and heavy use of productivity and coding tools to multiply your own output and the team's. You can take a three-bullet brief and execute without hand-holding.
Strong plus: blockchain protocol or node infrastructure experience on Ethereum, Cosmos, Hyperledger, Canton, or comparable L1/L2 networks — the single biggest differentiator between candidates; stablecoin issuance, redemption, or reserve-reconciliation systems; neobank or core-banking platform experience; CBDC or tokenized-deposit systems, and financial audit or regulatory reporting requirements
Note: this is a ledger engineering role where data correctness is the product. The core focus is the ledger model and its invariants, balance correctness under concurrency and chain reorgs, reconciliation against on-chain state and counterparty records, and the audit surfaces institutional clients and regulators query. If you have never owned a system where an incorrect balance was a serious incident, or you are looking for a pure smart contract or application role, this may not be the right fit.
Ground-floor opportunity to architect settlement infrastructure used by sovereign and enterprise clients, with direct impact on how digital assets move through the global financial system. You would be working at the intersection of blockchain infrastructure, traditional finance, and regulatory innovation.
This role is in person at our office in Miami, Florida. New hires may start remote with the expectation of relocating to Miami within 60 days of their start date. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
