Senior Software Engineer to own the fiat edge of an institutional blockchain payments network: banking rails, partner integrations, and on/off-ramps between fiat and stablecoins settled on-chain. Global Settlement is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital markets through stablecoins, commodities, FX, and real-world assets (RWAs). Think the global settlement reach of SWIFT, rebuilt for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions.
You own the fiat side of the network: banking rails, payment integrations, and the connections between traditional finance and settlement on GSX Chain. We are launching banking products on GSX rails with US and cross-border corridors first, and this role exists to make fiat move in and out of the network reliably, compliantly, and at institutional volume.
This is a blockchain payments role. Every rail you integrate terminates in an on-chain settlement event, so you will work with chain finality, stablecoin issuance and redemption, and the settlement protocol every day. Blockchain protocol experience is a big advantage coming in. If you bring deep payments-rails experience without it, expect to build that protocol depth here, fast, because the job requires it.
Build and operate integrations with banking partners, payment providers, and custodians: account opening, funding, payout, and FX
Own fiat funding and payout flows end to end, including on- and off-ramps between fiat and stablecoins settled on GSX Chain
Build the compliance and reporting surfaces those rails require: transaction monitoring hooks, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting
Translate between banking operations and chain settlement so a wire on one side and a finalized on-chain transaction on the other are always the same event
Design for partner-first launch: abstract provider APIs so we can swap or add rails without rewriting the product
Work directly with the ledger and settlement engineers and with partner engineering teams during integration
This role is a hands-on coding role with roughly 80% of your time spent coding, 10% of time spent strategizing and coordinating with team members, and 10% of your time spent documenting
5+ years of backend engineering, including hands-on payments or core-banking integration work
Direct experience with SWIFT, ACH, Fedwire, SEPA, or equivalent rails, and with the reconciliation problems they create
Engineering in a regulated environment: you know what KYC, AML, and audit requirements do to a system design
Production depth in Go, Java, or Rust, and the flexibility to switch stacks as the roadmap moves
Working understanding of blockchain settlement and finality, enough to reason about it when fiat is on the other side, and the drive to go much deeper
Startup work ethic and heavy use of productivity and coding tools to multiply your own output and the team's. You can take a three-bullet brief and execute without hand-holding.
Strong plus: blockchain protocol or node infrastructure experience on Ethereum, Cosmos, Hyperledger, Canton, or comparable L1/L2 networks — the single biggest differentiator between candidates; stablecoin on/off-ramp, issuance, or FX conversion systems; neobank or banking-as-a-service platform experience, and cross-border payout corridors (US to Africa or LatAm especially); CBDC or tokenized-deposit pilot exposure
Note: this is a payments engineering role at the boundary between banking rails and on-chain settlement. The core focus is bank, provider, and custodian integrations, fiat funding and payout flows, reconciliation, and the compliance surfaces regulated rails require, each of which terminates in a settlement event on GSX Chain. If you have never integrated a production banking or payment rail, or you are looking for a pure smart contract or application role, this may not be the right fit.
